The transport market for road freight
in Europe is expected to cool down due to geopolitical uncertainty and
record-breaking inflation. Eastern European markets show better performance than
Western European countries. These subjects and more will be discussed in our
new European Market Update.
The geopolitical situation and related
macro-economic uncertainty combined with record-breaking inflation within the
European countries will continue to weaken consumer demand and have a severe
influence on the transport market for road freight heading towards the first
half of 2023. The market is expected to cool down with very limited numbers of
growth expected for the next year. It needs to be said though, that the
situation differs sharply per country and trade lane. In addition it can be
concluded that in general Eastern European markets show a better performance
than Western European countries. This should be heavily taken into account in
market analytics as well as sourcing strategies.
